Interdisciplinary Science Competition
The Interdisciplinary Science Competition (ISC), held for the first time at the University of Alberta in 2013, is the first of its kind and a unique scientific competition that combines Biology, Chemistry and Physics for high school students. Through hands-on planning and experimentation, participants develop a holistic understanding of the connection that exists between the different scientific disciplines and immerse themselves in the various opportunities at the post-secondary level within a competitive environment. The competition is open to all grade 11 and 12 students with a strong interest in science. TeamUP Science actively promotes the participation of under-represented youths through subsidies and outreach.
This year, the fifth annual competition will be combining biology, chemistry, and physics on February 18-19, 2017. Other events will include a medical component, guest speakers, team-building activities, and more.
