Computer Science Workshop 2026

TeamUP Science’s Computer Science Workshop (CSW) is designed for high school students interested in exploring the field of computer science and software development! CSW is taking place on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 9 AM to 6 PM at the Edmonton Clinic Health Academy at the University of Alberta! The day will consist of presentations, a hackathon-style competition, lunch & prizes! The cost to attend is $20 and the deadline to register for this event is Friday, January 23, 2026. Students are eligible to apply for bursaries.

Participants will be divided into 2 streams, depending on previous computer science experience and skill-level. Both streams will use various software tools and languages, and the content will cover key concepts geared to the level of knowledge of students in each stream.

The general format of the event will be the same for participants in both streams: workshops with presentations and activities to learn concepts in the morning, and a hackathon-style competition in the afternoon using the knowledge from the morning lectures. There will also be a provided lunch, guest panelists currently involved in the computer science field, and a Q&A session!
