Health Sciences Workshop 2026

TeamUP Science’s Health Sciences Workshop (HSW) is designed for high school students interested in exploring the diverse fields of health sciences! HSW is taking place on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Edmonton Clinic Health Academy at the University of Alberta! The day will consist of presentations, activities, lunch, a guest panel of professionals across health science disciplines & prizes! The cost to attend is $20 and the deadline to register for this event is Friday, January 23, 2026. Participants are eligible to apply for bursaries.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore a variety of different disciplines and careers in the health sciences as they rotate through 4 different stations:

1. Physiotherapy & Injury Treatment

2. Forensics & The Science Behind Crimes

3. DNA & Genetic Counselling

4. Histology & The Study Of Microscopic Tissues

Each station includes a lecture and hands-on activities where participants can earn points. Points will be tallied at the end of the event, and prizes will be awarded! Participants will also have the opportunity to engage with a guest panel consisting of students and working professionals involved in the health sciences as they share their experiences.
